Francis "Frank" Gailey (21 January 1882 – 10 July 1972) was an Australian/American freestyle swimmer who competed in the 1904 Summer Olympics.

He was born in Australia but later emigrated to the United States and became naturalized in 1906.

In the 1904 Olympics he won a silver medals in the 220 yard freestyle, 440 yard freestyle and 880 yard freestyle and a bronze medal in the 1 mile freestyle. These four medals are officially listed for the United States, though research was undertaken which showed that he had been an Australian citizen at the time of the Olympics.[1] The Australian Olympic Committee stated that "Gailey's medals, newly credited to Australia, increase the nation’s total at summer Olympics to 449". [2] The International Olympic Committee still lists Gailey as American.[3]
